AI Gets a Major Upgrade – But Can It Finally Tell Good Jokes?

Guess what? Elon Musk’s AI company just dropped Grok 3, and it's making waves! This model is apparently a superbrain trained on 200,000 GPUs (yes, that’s a lot). It even has fancy features like "Think Mode" for checking its own math, "Big Brain Mode" for complex reasoning, and "Voice Mode" so you can talk to it (coming soon). But here’s the real question: Can Grok 3 stop making cringy dad jokes? The jury’s still out.

Meanwhile, Apple is rolling out its Apple Intelligence to Vision Pro, meaning soon you’ll be able to summon AI-generated emojis (Genmojis!), improved writing tools, and an image playground right inside your super-expensive headset. Fancy! But do we really need AI to generate emojis? Probably not, but it sure sounds fun.

OpenAI’s Countermove?

Just hours after Grok 3’s big debut, OpenAI’s Sam Altman casually asked the entire internet what they should build next. The options?

  • A mini-GPT model
  • A version that runs efficiently on your phone.

Oh, and he maybe teased GPT-4.5, which some claim feels like an AGI moment. Whatever that means, we’re watching.

Humanoid Robots on the Rise 🤖

Apparently, the world is throwing billions into humanoid robots—and Figure AI is leading the charge. This Silicon Valley startup is about to raise $1.5 billion, pushing its valuation to a wild $39 billion. That’s some serious cash for a company that makes robots that walk and work.

BMW already has their robots in factories, and they’re promising to deliver 100,000 units in four years. Meanwhile, Apptronik and Meta are also in the game, meaning 2025 might be the year robots go from sci-fi dreams to something standing next to you in the grocery store.

Will these robots replace humans at work? Maybe. Will they be better dancers than us? Definitely.

Other Cool Things to Know Today:

  • 🚨 Amazon’s Alexa upgrade is delayed due to...accuracy issues? Apparently, their AI assistant still gives too many wrong answers. Guess yelling "Alexa, stop!" isn’t going away anytime soon.
  • 📜 NYT is officially using AI in its newsroom—not to write articles (yet), but for editing, summarizing, and making headlines snappier.
  • 🏥 AI can now detect animal pain just by scanning their faces. Great news for pets who are very bad at telling us how they feel.
